Although located at Walnut Street near Chiddix Jr. High School, the field derived its name as the original field entrance was once located off Oak Street. The home plate location and the field entrance were re-positioned in the 1990s. Beautiful Sugar Creek cuts through the area, just beyond the outfield fence. The unique arched backstop is necessary due to the close proximity of private residences. The ballfield received an extensive renovation in 2018 including an electronic scoreboard, new dugouts, bullpens and ADA accessibility improvements.
